TWO SMALL PLANES COLLIDE AT NORTH CENTRAL AIRPORT

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (AP) - Two small planes collided on the runway at a Smithfield airport Friday evening, injuring one pilot, authorities said. The accident happened just before 6 p.m. when an arriving Piper Twin Comance carrying one pilot collided with a departing Beech Bonanza carrying two people, said Arlene Salac, a spokeswoman for the Federal Aviation Administration.
