Symptoms of Severe Brain Injury

If you or someone you know may have a serious brain injury, immediately contact emergency service personnel. A person with severe brain injury may exhibit some of these symptoms. the list is not meant to be exhaustive:

• A headache lasting more than 6 hours after trauma
• Inability to stay awake
• Nausea or vomiting several hours following the trauma
• Unconsciousness
• Dissimilar pupils
• Confusion, dizziness, and/or incoherence
• Watery blood or a clear fluid coming from the ears and/or nose
• Severe bleeding of the scalp
• Double vision
• Seizures
