Statute of Limitations: Pennsylvania medical malpractice actions must be commenced within two years of the act or omission giving rise to the injury. Minors under the age of eighteen who are not totally self-supporting may file a medical malpractice suit within two years of their eighteenth birthday. Emancipated minors must file suit within two years of the date the injury occurred, unless a longer period is otherwise provided.

Minimum Qualifications of Expert Witnesses: There are no special requirements for expert witnesses who testify in medical malpractice cases in Pennsylvania.

Limitations on Monetary Damages: There are no limits on damages recovered in medical malpractice cases in Pennsylvania.

Limitations on Attorney Fees: There are no special limits on attorney fees for attorneys who represent clients in medical malpractice cases in Pennsylvania.
