OSHA
The Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Act of 1970 created the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) within the Department of Labor for the purpose of reducing workplace hazards and implementing safety and health programs. OSHA is designed to ensure that workers enjoy their right to a workplace that is reasonably free of health and safety hazards. Under OSHA guidelines, employees have a number of rights and employers must follow certain regulations. Complaints can be filed with OSHA if health and safety regulations are violated. More information can be found at their website, www.osha.gov.
