People occupationally exposed to asbestos really come from a variety of areas. They could be construction workers, people who work in asbestos factories, of course, but also people who work in factories where there was lot of heat involved because asbestos usually used in conjunction with heat or insulation. But if you are a construction worker, say you are an electrician, a mason, a laborer and insulator, even a maintenance person. The chances are that if you had worked in 1940s, 50s, 60s and even into the 1970s, you probably had significant asbestos exposure. So many trades, yes, were exposed to asbestos. If you believe you’ve been exposed to asbestos, it’s important for you to tell your doctor that so your doctor can note it in your medical records. So in the event, God forbid, something should go wrong it’s documented and they can go back into your history and know what you’ve been exposed to, so you get the best treatment available at the earliest possible time.
