For Lawrence Thomas Fette, being president of Fette Ford in Clifton seemed to be a family affair. Having worked there for the last 50 years — his father, Henry, founded the large car dealership in 1952 — Mr. Fette handled it with care, said George Stonebridge, a 26-year employee.
