Aviation Liability

Who is liable for an aviation accident that means who is responsible to pay damages to the people who are injured or killed in an accident. Well, there could be many different parties who are responsible for causing an accident. The first, it could be the airlines, for example, it could be the pilot who makes some kind of an error in the operation of the plane, it could be a pilot, it could an engineer, it could be other people on the flight crew. The airline could also be responsible for improperly maintaining the plane. They have a responsibility to see that the plane remains in an airworthy condition and there could have been a mistake in error made in the manner in which the plane was maintained. So, the airline is one responsible party. Another responsible party would be the people who designed and manufacturer of the plane or its parts, such as the airline company that made the plane designed its navigation systems, designed its parts and then manufactured the plane. They could also be responsible for causing the accident if the plane is either designed or manufactured in some way that is defective so that the plane is caused to crash. Also, not just the manufacturer of the plane is a whole but any of the sub parts such as the navigation system or an air-conditioning system or communication system. A third party who could be responsible would be the traffic controllers. Whether they are United States government through a national air traffic control or through an individual airport, where they have their own traffic controllers and the accident could have been caused as a result of the failures of the air traffic controllers to properly control the flight pattern. So, those are the examples of three potential parties who could be held responsible for the causing an air crash, the airline, the air traffic controllers and the aircraft manufacturers.
