Unfortunately there are still way too many uninsured drivers in Pennsylvania. This does not mean you don’t have a case when you’re involved in an accident with one of those uninsured drivers because in Pennsylvania we have the ability to buy uninsured motorist coverage to protect ourselves if we’re in that situation.

So if you’ve been involved in an accident with an uninsured motorist the first thing you should do is check your policy to make sure you have uninsured motorist coverage. Second thing you should do is give your lawyer a call because sometimes you’ll find out that even though you don’t have uninsured motorist coverage your insurance carrier didn’t have you sign the correct forms and you still may be entitled to those coverages.

So it doesn’t automatically mean that you have no case when you’re involved in an accident with an uninsured motorist.
